About Aardvark and Tarot

Welcome to Aardvark and Tarot, a literary anthology started by a mother-daughter duo, Wendy Payne and Holly Payne-Strange in 2023.

 

While many people are  familiar with Tarot as a divination aid, it is perhaps less well known as a creative tool. However, the cards of the major arcana tell a story. It starts with the fool card, who starts their journey with innocence and enthusiasm. They meet various challenges as The Tower, and aids, such as The Sun, before reading their full potential and starting a new journey again. The cards reflect and emphasizes different aspects of the human experience, and are therefore both precise and universal.  Each issue of Aardvark and Tarot focuses on a different card. 

 

Our focus is on the cards as art and as inspiration for creativity, rather than solely on their spiritual significance, although we are open to exploring that aspect as well. Thank you for visiting Aardvark and Tarot.
